Interior Minister Magdi Abdel Ghaffar called on Sunday for beefing up security along roads and main axes, especially in new cities and desert areas, to face violence and arrest criminal gangs.
Abdel Ghaffar, during a meeting with his aides, called for increasing the number of security patrols on main roads and axes that link different cities and governorates.
He also urged more crackdowns to fight all forms of thuggery and seize criminal hotbeds.
He called on policemen to treat citizens well and to quickly interact with citizens' complaints.
The minister lauded pre-emptive blows directed by security men against criminal hotbeds that were crowned by the arrest of a large number of criminals.
