Kuwait called on Wednesday for holding an extraordinary meeting of the Arab League Council at the level of foreign ministers on Monday to discuss the critical situation in the Syrian city of Aleppo.
Kuwaiti chief delegate to the AL Ambassador Ahmed Abdel Rahman said in press statements that the move was made in light of the current deteriorating humanitarian conditions in the Syrian city.
Consultations are now underway with the AL secretariat and Tunisia; the current chairman of the AL Council, on the convocation of the meeting.
The AL Council will hold on Thursday an emergency meeting, at the request of Qatar to discuss the tragic situation in the Syrian city.
