Lebanese army seizes ammunition-laden truck

The Lebanese Army seized a truck loaded with various types of ammunition at a military checkpoint in the northern area of Hermel on Wednesday. The troops stopped the tuck and arrested three Lebanese citizens inside, a statement by the army said. The ammunition varies from light to medium weapons, in addition to hand grenades, the statement noted, adding that the truck and three arrested were transferred to appropriate authorities. Last July, the army made a similar seizure of a truck but was carrying five people Lebanese and Syrian nationalities, who appeared to be heading to fighting in Syria.
