
The final phases for the return of Lebanese citizens who were martyred and wounded during Istanbul attack have concluded on Monday, with the arrival of the Middle East Airplane expected between seven and seven thirty today.
Airport security at Rafik Hariri International Airport will hold a comprehensive meeting at four in the afternoon to coordinate between all ministries, administrations and apparatuses to accompany the arrival of three Lebanese who were killed during the terror attack, and five others who were wounded at Reina nightclub in Istanbul.
Secretary-General of the Supreme Commission for Relief Maj. Gen. Mohammed Khair thanked the Turkish authorities for facilitating the logistics of this repatriation. He also highlighted the prompt and professional work of the Lebanese consulate in Turkey.
The MEA plane is expected to carry onboard members of the Lebanese official mission, the accompanying specialized Lebanese medical team, and the families of victims from Turkey back to Lebanon.
Martyrs Rita Shamy, Elias Wardini and Haykal Moussallem will be brought back home for burial. Injured Lebanese Francois Al Asmar, Nidal Bashrawi, Melissa Papalordu, Nasser Beshara and Jihabd Abdul Khalek will also be brought back home for further treatment. While Bushra Doueihi remained at a hospital in Turkey, with her condition reportedly stable.
