MP questions environment minister over water hyacinth

Parliament member Mohamed Anwar al Sadat questioned the environment minister over his plans to contain the problem of water hyacinth.
Water hyacinth consumes large quantities of water used in agriculture, threatening losing 10 percent of Egypt's quota in the River Nile, Sadat said.
It also disturbs navigation, blocks waterways and affects negatively on water quality.
Regardless of its dangers, it can be used as a fodder for livestock and producing composts.
