Prime Minister Sherif Ismail on Thursday chaired a ministerial meeting on the policy adopted for the subsidized goods and means to maintain a reserve of strategic goods that covers the next six months.
The meeting was attended by the ministers of planning, social solidarity, military production, communications, finance and supply.
During the meeting, Minister of Supply Mohamed Ali Meselhi briefed the ministers on reserves of basic commodities.
He said that the country's stock of sugar is sufficient for three-month consumption while the wheat is available in the country's silos and barns for four months.
In November, the government supplied up to 202,000 tons of sugar to meet local demands, according to the minister.
