
The Rabdan Academy is participating in providing the latest scientific innovations in safety and security, emergency risk management, crisis management while providing lectures and practical training, during the Emirates Week for Innovation 2016, organised by the UAE government.
The event, from 20th to 26th November, includes a demonstration of the security devices and their latest technology with the participation of Ministry of Interior, represented by the General Directorate of Civil Defence, General Command of Abu Dhabi Police is represented by Crime Scene Department in addition to Tawazun Holding.
The academy’s students and faculty contributed to showing the latest innovations and learning to the students of Abu Dhabi Police College and various other schools in Abu Dhabi.
"The academy is pleased to participate in the UAE Innovation Week as an annual event to celebrate innovators at the state level and motivate young people to innovate in support of science and knowledge," said James Morse, president of the academy.
He praised the government’s efforts in endorsing a culture of innovation within the framework of the UAE’s quest to be one of the most innovative countries in the world.
Dr. Faisal Al Ayyan, Vice President of Rabdan Academy, expressed the importance of participating in the second edition of the Emirates Week for innovation as it is bigger than before as it will be witnessing many different innovative techniques from with the UAE and abroad.
He further said that the academy was keen to apply the UAE’s approach to spreading the culture of innovation, this culture was announced by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan in 2015 in line with the national strategy for innovation that was launched by Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Dr. Faisal said, "The participation of the team is a great addition as the academy is keen to develop ways of scientific research and the development of innovation among students of the nation. We consider the innovation week to be one of the largest innovative initiatives in the world with participation of institutions, governmental and private entities that contribute to the deployment of innovation of UAE as it strengthens its position as a global hub for innovation.
"The academy introduced two new courses in safety and security, defence, emergency and crisis management, and innovative projects in the Safety and Security Department programmes offered to students associated with the academy.
