
H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah and President of the American University of Sharjah (AUS), received today at his office in the University, Dr. Sheikha Aisha bint Faleh bin Nasser Al-Thani, member of Qatar's Supreme Education Council. Sheikh Sultan welcomed Dr. Sheikha Aisha and exchanged views with her on education in the Gulf region and the importance of building the future of human resources through giving interest to the educational process and its outputs. The Sharjah Ruler also cited efforts in the service of education in the emirate, pointing out future educational projects such as Al Qasimia University, modelled on al-Azhar University in Egypt, which is scheduled to open next September within the celebrations of Sharjah being the Capital of Islamic Culture for the year 2014. On her part, Dr. Sheikha Aisha expressed her gratitude at meeting Sheikh Sultan, hailing what she has seen and connected with during her visit to Sharjah University, stating that all the educational institutions in the University reflect the attention given by the Sharjah Ruler to education. At the end of the meeting, Sheikh Sultan received a souvenir of a painting in Arabic Calligraphy which states the name of Sheikh Sultan. The meeting was attended by a number of officials.
