President Abdel Fattah El Sisi congratulated Lebanese President Michel Aoun, Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid said on Wednesday.
The congratulation came in a message delivered by Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry during a meeting with Lebanese Prime Minister-designate Saad al-Hariri.
In the message, President Sisi also asserted that Egypt is keen on supporting Lebanon’s stability and invited the Lebanese Leader to visit Egypt soon, Abu Zeid added.
Shoukry stressed that the aim behind his visit to Beirut is to reiterate Egypt’s support for Lebanon’s stability at all political, security and social levels, according to Abu Zeid.
For his part, Hariri praised President Sisi's decision to delegate the Egyptian top-diplomat to visit Lebanon, hailing the leading role played by Egypt in the region, which in turn helps Arab peoples to face different challenges and achieve the desirable Arab solidarity.
