
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Sunday reiterated that Egypt's government and people are are determined to eradicate terrorism.
In a phone call with Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of Saint Mark Diocese, Sisi affirmed full confidence in the Egyptian people's ability to unite as a single entity to achieve victory on the country's war on terrorism.
The president added that the war on terrorism represents a battle of all Egyptians, Muslims or Christians alike.
The president condoled with the pope over the victims of Boutrosiya Church blast that took place earlier Sunday and left scores dead and injured.
For his part, Pope Tawadros II stressed that the Egyptian people are one hand and able to withstand such adversities to exact retribution from the perpetrators.
At least 25 people were killed and 49 more injured in the blast that targeted the Boutrosiya Church which is adjacent to the St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Cairo's Abbasiya.
