The Social Solidarity Ministry decided to disband the board of directors of Al Salam association in Alexandria, which manage an orphanage.
The move came after investigations showed that one of the children was beaten and tortured.
In a statement, the ministry said that Social Solidarity Minister Ghada Wali closely followed up complaints from children at the orphanage, which is affiliated to Al Salam association in Alexandria.
One of the children at the orphanage was tortured and beaten by one of the security guards of the orphanage.
Wali assigned a ministry official in Alexandria to visit the orphanage to make sure of the incident.
No tolerance will be shown against any violations committed against children inside social care institutions, affirmed the minister.
The security guard was changed and a report is being prepared to refer the issue to the Prosecution to take the necessary action.
