Syrian FM: No transition peace plan without Assad

Damascus will not accept any transition plan that excludes President Bashar Assad, Foreign Minister Walid al Moallem said Saturday on the sideline of the UN General Assembly. "For the Syrian people, Bashar Assad is the elected president until mid-2014, when presidential elections will be held," al Moallem told AP. Earlier the foreign minister told RT that the Syrian crisis could end in weeks if the West and Persian Gulf States stopped supporting the insurgents on the ground.
