Taef never mentioned proportionality

Member of Parliament, Ammar Houry, on Monday reminded of the fact that Taef Agreement never mentioned proportionality in legislative elections, a suggestion that many political parties in Lebanon have been advocating.
"Future Movement's proposal is the most appropriate frame to exit the prevailing crisis," he told the Voice of Lebanon radio station.
"President Aoun's warnings about an impending vacuum is what pushed concerned sides to swiftly seek a new electoral formula," he added.
