
Juma Mubarak Al Junaibi, the UAE Ambassador to Cairo and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, attended the first meeting of the Arab countries’ focal points for sustainable development, held here on Monday.
Addressing the meeting, Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Abu Al Ghait stressed the importance of directing the development path in the Arab countries to serve the poor and the marginalised segments and to empower youth and women.
He said that sustainable development is a strategic priority for the Arab League and referred to the development mechanism, established by the League, as a precursor to a more inclusive action plan for development in the Arab world.
