The Emirates Red Crescent on Thursday delivered food packages to a number of Yemeni retirees suffering from economic hardships caused by the coup against the state.
Each food package is enough to sustain an average family for one month.
The initiative aims to help the retirees who receive low pensions while the cost of living is too high, said Representative of the Emirates Red Crescent in the southern Yemeni governorate of Hadramaut, Abdullah Al Musaferi.
Through the initiative, the UAE aims to improve their living conditions because they have no other sources of income, he added.
The beneficiaries thanked the UAE for its humanitarian efforts in their country and unwavering support for the Yemeni people.
