
Municipalities Affairs Undersecretary at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, Nabil Abu Al-Fateh, today made a tour to inspect efforts to suction and drain rainwater in various governorates.
While touring a number of areas and neighbourhoods in the Southern Governorate, the underscretary directed to step up efforts in order to alleviate the sufferings of the citizens because of the heavy rain witnessed by the kingdom recently.
Meanwhile, Director-General of the Southern Municipality, Assim Abdullatif, said that the Municipality had received more than 700 notifications from the citizens during the past seven days to report rain water pooling sites, noting that a total of 1200 tanks of that water have removed.
He added that work will continue round the clock to reduce the damages caused by heavy rain, lauding the cooperation of the citizens and residents with the Municipality.
He also commended the keenness of the Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister and Municipalities Undersecretary for their keenness to follow up on the efforts to drain rainwater closely.
