Egyptian folk singer Amina has revealed that she has put all projects on hold until after the delivery of her baby. The singer is currently expecting her first baby with her businessman husband Alaa Shabalo. Amina, who has just finished filming her first scene for the TV series Ahl el-Hawa (Love's Own People), told Arabstoday: "I was worried about my pregnancy and the doctor told me not to work too hard, so I started avoiding activities that could jeopardise my pregnancy and cut out a lot of my work until my dear child is born." Ahl El-Hawa (Love's Own People) is about the life of late Alexandrian musician Sayed Darwish and Amina confirmed she will be playing "a simple girl who loves the late singer Mounira el-Mahdiya and dreams of entering the music business," she told Arabstoday. "Eventually, she becomes part of Sayed Darish's life," she said. Amina will star alongside singer Iman el-Bahr Darwish (a descendent of the Alexandrian master) and actor Farouk el-Fishawi, she added. The singer has also wrapped up filming on the series Mouled w Sahbo Ghayeb (Free-for-All), in which she stars alongside Lebanon's Haifa wehbe, as well as recording a duet entitled Ya Marakbi (Boatman) with legendary folk singer Fatma Rushdi.
