Ten people remain missing after a household gas explosion in a residential building in the southern Russian city of Astrakhan, a spokesman for the Emergencies Ministry said on Tuesday. At least two people were killed and 12 more injured in a household gas blast on Monday afternoon on the third floor of a nine-storey residential building, according to Russian (RIA Novosti) News Agency. At least 14 people were injured and two of them died. Ten people believed to be missing, the spokesman said. The spokesman also said that rescuers saved 26 people after the explosion, including those buried under the debris of the ruined building. He added that rescue efforts continue at the site of the tragedy involving 335 rescuers and 59 units of mechanized equipment.
