Two children were killed in a landslide Saturday in the southern Philippines, where more than 240,000 people have been displaced by flooding, police and emergency workers said. According to dap, the children, a 6-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy, were in one of three houses buried by the landslide in Zamboanga City, some 800 kilometres south of Manila. "We have been experiencing continuous heavy rain since last week and this could have caused the landslide," said Ariel Huesca, a regional police spokesman. In Maguindanao province, 20 towns were flooded following a week of monsoon rains, displacing nearly a quarter of a million people, the national disaster relief agency said.
