Two people onboard including a Chinese tourist have been killed this morning when an ultralight aircraft belonging to Avia Club crashed at Shanti Stupa at Phumdi Bhumdi VDC in Pokhara. The pilot has been identified to be Stephen Shrestha who was a proprietor of Avia Club. An official from the Chinese embassy told China's (Xinhua) news agency that the Chinese is named Liu Jun according to the information from a Kathmandu travel agency which arranged the flight for the dead, while Prabin Gauchan of Avia Club identified the dead as Liu Jian. The tragedy took place Thursday and both died on the spot," Krishna Bari Baral, a local correspondent of Pokhara, told Xinhua. The local police reached the accident site within 15 minutes of the crash and the bodies have been taken to Gandaki Medical College. The accident has been attributed to the bad weather including fogs and rain. Pokhara, Nepal's major tourist hub, is about 200 km west to capital city Kathmandu.
