Ukrainian military spokesman Andriy Lysenko said Monday that two people were killed in the country's restive eastern regions in the past day.
One victim was a non-combatant volunteer, who assisted the Ukrainian army in air reconnaissance in the combat zone, Lysenko said, adding that the volunteer died of wounds after a land mine exploded near him.
In addition, one Ukrainian serviceman was killed in clashes with pro-independence rebels, the spokesman said.
The spokesman said there were no reports of other casualties in the combat zone during the past day.
Meanwhile, the press service of the National Security and Defense Council said that neither major clashes nor artillery use was recorded in eastern Ukraine in the last 24 hours.
More than 6,000 people have died since the Ukrainian government sent troops into eastern regions in April 2014 to retake cities and towns captured by insurgents.
In mid-February, a ceasefire deal was inked in Minsk, capital of Belarus, which helped significantly ease the fighting.
