3 missing as Typhoon Rammasun lands on northern Philippines

Three fishermen went missing in northern Philippine province of Catanduanes when typhoon Rammasun (local name: Glenda) made a landfall in Albay province around 5 p. m. local time on Tuesday, police said.
The missing fishermen, with age ranging from 26 to 30, left Panganiban town in Catanduanes province at 9 a.m. on Tuesday to go fishing.
As of Tuesday evening, they failed to return home.
Mayor Obet Fernandez is organizing search and rescue operations in the coastal area, said Maria Calubaquib, said the spokesperson of Bicol regional police center.
Meanwhile, five male fishermen from the same province have been rescued from sea.
Typhoon Rammasun landed with maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour and gustiness of 160 kph, said the weather bureau Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
Philippine President Benigno Aquino III participated in a meeting of the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council in Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City, Metro Manila, late Tuesday afternoon.
"We have to make sure that the people would get this information, so that they can take the correct actions," the president told the meeting.
Aquino reminded concerned authorities to ensure that casualties are minimized and there would be less difficulties for the people on the path of typhoon Rammasun.
