Pakistan’s military officials announced that the country's Air Force killed 35 insurgents, including foreign ones, in fresh strikes in North Waziristan.
In a statement, Pakistani Air Force said that it carried out several air strikes on militant centers and hideouts in Dadakhil area of North Waziristan late yesterday, Khaama press reported.
As a result of which 35 insurgents including several foreign fighters were killed and their centers and hideouts were destroyed, the statement added.
The statement does not give details about the nationalities of the foreign fighters killed but foreign fighters hiding in North Waziristan are reportedly most of them Arabs, Uzbek and Chechens.
Pakistan started large scale operations against militants in North Waziristan and adjourning areas in June 2014 after their peace talks failed and then Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) with the assistance of Uzbek fighters carried out a massive attack on Karachi airport in Pakistan’s business hub Karachi.
The attack left at least 28 people dead.
