At least four workers died and five others were injured Saturday morning when a building they were demolishing collapsed in Lagan village in Nepal's capital Kathmandu, police said.
The incident occurred at around 11:45 a.m. local time when the workers were busy pulling down a four-storey building made of mud- brick which was in a dilapidated condition.
According to Metropolitan Police Circle, all the injured have been rushed to Kathmandu's Bir Hospital.
"All (the) deceased and injured are daily wage earners and were in the same house," Ishwor Shrestha, a local, told Xinhua.
A joint team of the army, police and armed police force is still conducting rescue operation at the moment. The rescuers are digging the debris to make sure no others have been buried or trapped inside.
