A speed boat sank in Musi river in South Sumatra province of Indonesia on Friday, killing six people on board, said an official in charge of search and rescue operation. A few minutes after setting off from the port in Plaju of Palembang, capital of the province, Friday afternoon, the speed boat hit a steel barrier and sank, Ferry Irawan, the official in charge of search and rescue operation in the province, told Xinhua by phone. He said that 22 other passengers had been rescued and there was no report of missing persons. Ferry is one of the favorite means of transport in Indonesia, a chain of 17,500 islands which have many rivers. But lack of safety standards has often triggered accidents.
