At least eight people were killed and six others injured in a tragic road mishap in the western Indian state of Maharashtra in the wee hours of Saturday, a police official said. "All the eight victims, including four women, were charred to death when the luxury bus in which they were traveling caught fire near Hinganghat, about 100 kms from Nagpur city in Maharashtra. Six others have been admitted to a local hospital with severe burn injuries," the official said on condition of anonymity. The fire broke out when the wedding goers were on the way back to their native village, he said. A probe has been ordered into the incident, the official said, adding that a manhunt has been launched to track down the driver of the bus who fled the spot.
