
At least 23 suspected militants were killed on Monday in aerial strikes on militants hideouts in the North Waziristan tribal region of Pakistan bordering Afghanistan, said military.
A statement issued by the media wing of Pakistan military, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that at least 23 militants were killed in precise air strikes in the Bangidar area of Ghulam Khan in North Waziristan.
Pakistan launched a comprehensive military operation 'Zarb e Azb' against the foreign and local militants on June 15 following an attack on the international airport of Karachi city.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Monday met the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Raheel Sharif at the PM House, said an official press release.
They discussed the ongoing operation Zarb-e-Azb and the rehabilitation of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) due to operation during the meeting. The meeting expressed satisfaction on the progress achieved so far in the ongoing military offensive against terrorists in the tribal region.
