At least two people were killed in a fire at a state-run oil depot in India's western state of Gujarat on Sunday, police said. About 100 firemen were fighting the blaze that broke out in a petrol storage tanks at the Indian Oil Corporation's storage facility in Surat district on Saturday afternoon. "Bodies of two unidentified men, probably workers, were recovered from near the tank that is nearly gutted," inspector Ravindra Pathak, said from the police control room in Surat. "The blaze has been controlled from spreading to eight other tanks containing petrol and diesel," he was quoted as saying by DPA.
