
A heavy avalanche in the central Bamyan province of Afghanistan left four persons including an infant dead, said officials on Tuesday.
Provincial police chief, Brig. Gen. Khudayar Qudsi told media that the avalanche struck the Joy Shing locality of Yakawlang district killing four people. The governor's spokesperson, Abdul Rahman Ahmadi said that the avalanche destroyed at least ten homes in the district and emergency relief committee had sent a team to the area.
Earlier on Sunday, at least twelve people were killed and many houses destroyed as a result of a snow avalanche in Raghistan district of northeastern Badakhshan province of Afghanistan.
