Road accident kills 5 in Beijing

Five people were killed in a car accident early Sunday morning in Beijing, municipal police confirmed in the afternoon.
The accident happened at 6:20 a.m. when two sedans collided in Fangshan District. Both cars skidded to the roadside and ran over several pedestrians. Four people were killed at the scene. Another died in hospital despite treatment.
An investigation into the cause is under way.
