Indonesian police said three officers have been killed in a gunfight with suspected Islamic terrorists in the province of Central Sulawesi, ABC news reported Thursday. Indonesian National police spokesman Brig. Gen. Boy Rafli Amar said the clash happened Thursday as a group of 10 to 15 gunmen ambushed policemen patrolling in the village of Kolora in Poso district. Amar added three other officers were wounded in the gunfight, and that the assailants took away one gun before escaping to the jungle. He identified all the victims as sergeants from the police's special forces unit. Amar said one of the attackers was arrested but he would not identify him. Two police officers were killed in October while investigating suspected terrorist activities in the region, which was the site of deadly religious clashes a decade ago.
