Donations to a fund to help Colorado movie theater massacre victims topped $3 million, a fund manager said as the suspect was to be formally arraigned. Weekend donations brought the Aurora Victim Relief Fund to $3.1 million, Community First Foundation online giving manager Dana Rinderknecht told The Denver Post. The fund, established by Gov. John Hickenlooper in partnership with the Arvada, Colo., foundation, had more than $2 million as of Thursday, the foundation said in a statement. Twelve people were killed and 58 others were wounded in the July 20 shooting rampage in a theater crowded with families at a midnight premiere screening of the Batman movie "The Dark Knight Rises" in Aurora, a Denver suburb. The attack was the deadliest mass shooting in Colorado since the 1999 Columbine High School attacks in which 12 students and a teacher were murdered and 24 others were wounded. A pregnant woman whose 6-year-old daughter was killed in the Aurora shooting, and was herself seriously wounded in it, suffered a miscarriage, her family said Sunday. Ashley Moser, the 25-year-old mother of Veronica Moser-Sullivan, the youngest victim killed in the shooting, was shot in the neck and stomach. The family said the trauma Moser sustained caused a miscarriage. Defense attorney Karen Steinhauser said the miscarriage won't result in a new homicide charge against suspect James Holmes, KKTV, Colorado Springs, reported. Holmes was to be formally arraigned on murder charges Monday. At Holmes' first court appearance a week ago, William Blair Sylvester, chief judge of Colorado's 18th Judicial District Court, informed him he could face 12 first-degree murder charges. First-degree, or premeditated, murder of multiple victims can be punishable by death in Colorado.
