While an investigation into the deaths of his three children continues, a Drummondville, Quebec, man thanked the community for its support. The bodies of Patrick Desautels' daughters Lorelie, 2, and Anais, 5, and son Loic, 4, were found by police responding to an emergency call Sunday. Their mother, Sonia Blanchette, 33, was taken from their apartment on a stretcher with undisclosed injuries and remains hospitalized, the Canadian television network CTV said Wednesday. Blanchette has no yet spoken with police but is considered an "important witness," CTV reported. In a news conference lasting just over a minute, Desautels thanked "all those who wanted to help me and my family in this tragedy. The pain we feel, we can't explain it." Police have not revealed the cause of the children's deaths. CTV said Blanchette was arrested last year and charged with breaking a custody order.
