A magnitude-6.8 earthquake struck Myanmar Sunday morning, killing at least 13 people and leaving five workers missing, authorities said. China's Xinhua News Agency said more than 100 other injuries were reported in Singu, located in northern Myanmar. At least five aftershocks were felt, local experts told the news agency. A man was killed when a brick wall of a restaurant collapsed, an information official said. In the township of Sint Ku, a gold mine, a monastery and a house collapsed, killing six people, CNN reported. The five missing workers had been on a bridge under construction that collapsed into the river. Xinhua said pagodas, residential houses and school buildings also collapsed in Shwebo, Singu, Mandalay and Tabaitgine. The quake began about 7:40 a.m. local time at a depth of about 12 miles. The U.S. Geological Survey reported it was centered 32 miles north-northeast of the town of Shwebo in the Sagaing region.
