A restaurant delivery man was found dead in Salmiya recently after he overdosed on drugs. Police and paramedics rushed to the scene after a man reported that a person was lying unconscious in the back seat of a fast-food restaurant’s delivery car. The man, identified as an Egyptian national, was declared dead at the spot. Police found drug paraphernalia near the body, which was taken to the forensic department to confirm the cause of death. A preliminary examination showed that he died of a drug overdose. Meanwhile, another young man was hospitalized in critical condition after he became unconscious due to a drug overdose. The Kuwaiti victim could barely breathe when paramedics arrived at the scene in Jabriya where he was discovered inside a car by a passerby. He was admitted to the intensive care unit at the Mubarak Hospital where he eventually regained consciousness. The victim confirmed that he had lost consciousness after taking drugs that a friend gave him. The police are now looking for that friend. Murder attempt Police are searching for a driver accused of shooting another driver in Rumathiya, and also an accomplice who helped the accused escape. Local police were approached by a bedoon (stateless) resident who reported that a male driver of a US-made car fired gunshots at him following a traffic dispute. After the bullets missed their target, the victim said he had followed the shooter to Shaab, where the suspect was joined by an SUV driver who struck the bedoon’s car.
