An aircraft involved in firefighting operations crashed west of Ulladulla in Australia's New South Wales (NSW) on Thursday morning, the NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) confirmed. The RFS said in a statement on Thursday that the aircraft's operator was contracted to the NSW RFS. "Crews, including a rescue helicopter, are still responding to the scene," the RFS said. "There is no further information available at this stage." Meanwhile, the RFS has urged the community to remain vigilant about the dangers presented by bushfires. There are still 66 bushfires burning across NSW, with 24 of them uncontained. Four watch-and-act alerts are in place for the bushfires near Lithgow, Springwood in NSW's Blue Mountains and in the Southern Highlands.
