Police in Germany are searching the grounds of a guesthouse owned by a police detective believed to have killed and eaten a man he met on a cannibal website. The detective, identified only as Detlev G., has admitted killing a Polish-born business consultant, TheLocal.de reported. But he has denied eating any of the body. The Bild newspaper reported Tuesday that body parts had been found on the grounds of Detlev's guesthouse in Hartmannsdorf-Reichenau, Saxony. Police released photos Wednesday that showed officers digging up the property. Detlev, 55, is a detective with the state Office of Criminal Investigations in Saxony. Investigators say the victim, Wojciech S., had told Detlev he wanted to be killed and consumed, and the two men had frequent communications on line before Wojciech traveled to Saxony. Detlev allegedly stabbed him, cut up the body and hid the parts in his garden. In Germany's most notorious cannibalism case, Armin Meiwes of Rotenburg admitted in 2001 he had killed and eaten a man who became his lover after they met online through an ad seeking a "slaughter victim." Meiwes was given a life sentence after he was convicted of murder.
