The prime ministers of neighbours India and Pakistan are likely to meet in New York in September to discuss easing border tensions, a Pakistani official said here on Friday. Foreign Office spokesman, Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry at a weekly press briefing on Friday said that Pakistan had already apprised India of its concern over the situation on the border 'Line of Control' (LoC) and that all communication channels between the two countries were open. He expressed hope that the tensions between Pakistan and India will ease and the situation on the LoC would normalize after the meeting of the prime ministers. Tension between India and Pakistan has risen as five Indian soldiers were ambushed and killed in a remote district along the disputed Kashmir region. India accused Pakistani soldiers of being involved in the attack, but the Foreign Office has denied the involvement of the Pakistan Army. The latest incidents wounded seven civilians, including three women, in the Pakistani-administered Kashmir. In reply to the statement of Indian Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, who said that India's relations with Pakistan were set to improve, it is essential that Islamabad prevents the use of its territory for any "anti-India activity, " said the spokesman, who added that Pakistan would not allow the use of its territory for terrorism.
