Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's tour to violence-hit northeast state of Assam ran into trouble Saturday morning due to a technical trouble of the helicopter which was to fly him to Kokrjhar in riot-torn Bodoland Territorial Administered Districts (BTAD) in the state. Singh landed at Gopinath Bordoloi airport at around 10 a.m. and boarded the helicopter but the chopper had to return after taking off due to some technical difficulties. There was no back up helicopter and the visit has been delayed. Now arrangement is being made for another helicopter to fly him and officials accompanying him from New Delhi to Kokrajhar. Some 400,000 people have taken shelter in refugee camps in BTAD areas and waiting eagerly to meet the prime minister. They complain that they are not getting any food and clothes from the administration as they had fled their homes due to communal clashes since July 20 which left 48 people dead.
