Moscow’s court on Monday gave a long prison term to the KAMAZ truck driver who was found guilty of killing 18 people in a road accident a year ago.
The court sentenced truck driver Grachyu Arutyunyan, who rode into a bus in the Moscow region in July of last year, to six years and nine months in prison. He has also been forbidden to operate vehicles for three years after the end of his prison term.
The accident occurred on July 13, 2013 south of Moscow. A KAMAZ truck carrying crushed rock collided with a passenger bus, basically cutting it into two halves, killing 18 and injuring more than 60 people.
