Kazakhstan and the United Nations are entering a new stage of productive cooperation, said Kazakh Foreign Minister Yerzhan Kazykhanov on Monday. "The progress of our interaction with the UN is taking us to a new level of cooperation. In particular, we are talking about transforming Kazakhstan from being a recipient of aid to a donor and creating the KazAID aid agency," said Kazykhanov. Kazakhstan's plans to establish a major regional UN cooperation center in Almaty will further enhance ties with the United Nations, he told a roundtable devoted to the UN Day. "It is in our common interests to ensure that the United Nations stays a promising and dynamic organization that maintains international peace, security, progress and prosperity," he said.
