The man who allegedly shot a security agent to death at Los Angeles International Airport this month is out of the hospital, federal authorities said Tuesday. Paul Ciancia, 23, was turned over to U.S. marshals who locked him up at an undisclosed facility while awaiting his first court appearance on charges he opened fire on a Transportation Security Agency screening station at LAX on Nov 1. No court appearances for Ciancia had been scheduled as of midday Tuesday, Thom Mrozek, spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's office in Los Angeles, said in a written statement. TSA Agent Gerardo Hernandez, 39, was killed in the incident. Another agent and a passenger were wounded. Ciancia was shot four times and was hospitalized at UCLA Medical Center where he spent nearly two weeks in critical condition, KCBS-TV in Los Angeles said. The incident halted flight arrivals at LAX for much of the day with numerous flights delayed and connections missed.
