A man was electrocuted at his rented flat in the city's Pallabi area Sunday morning. Victim Mohammad Sawkat Hossain, 30, got electric shock while trying to open the electrified door of his bathroom around 6:00am, said Mizanur Rahman, a sub-inspector of Pallabi Police Station. The door was electrified when splashes of water drenched an electric switch board inside the bathroom while he was taking bath, the SI said. The family members of Sawkat brought him out of the bathroom breaking open its door, the police officer added. He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where duty doctors declared him dead. Sawkat, son of one Solaiman Hossain, was residing at Block-B in Mirpur No. 11.
