A Philippine man killed four people he had held hostage, then killed himself as he sat on a grenade that exploded, injuring several other people, police said. The grenade exploded while Anthony Zepeda's body was being moved Tuesday evening, the Philippine Daily Inquirer reported. A police officer and three mortuary workers were injured, one of them critically. A daylong standoff in Pili, Camarines Sur, began Tuesday morning, when a 14-year-old servant fled the house, reporting trouble, police said. Zepeda refused to talk to hostage negotiators. Police entered the house after hearing gunshots at about 4 p.m. Zepeda's body was on the ground floor, while the bodies of his father, Expedito, his brother, Victor, his sister-in-law, Sharmaine, and the unidentified servant were upstairs. Pili police said Zepeda, a father of three, was separated from his wife and had been depressed.
