Two Ugandan helicopters that vanished Sunday crashed on Mount Kenya, a Kenyan Army spokesman said. Rescue teams being sent to the remote area have yet to determine the fate of the reported 14 people aboard, the BBC reported. A third helicopter was able to make an emergency landing on the mountain. Its passengers were rescued, army spokesman Col. Cyrus Oguna said. A fourth helicopter made a scheduled fuel stop in the Kenyan town of Garissa. The wreckage of the two missing helicopters was found by wildlife officers at about 17,057 feet. All of the Russian-made aircraft were part of a contingent of troops sent to Somalia to reinforce African Union troops fighting the extremist Islamic group al-Shabaab.
