A 5.2-magnitude earthquake jolted the southern Philippines, injuring 10 people and damaging several houses and buildings, the Office of Civil Defence (OCD) said Tuesday. The quake struck late Monday with an epicentre south-west of Malaybalay town in the southern province of Bukidnon, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology. It was felt strongest in Valencia City, where 40 patients from a hospital were evacuated due to the shaking. The OCD said cracks were seen at the hospital after the earthquake but city engineers deemed it safe to resume operations.
