
A moderate earthquakes measuring 5. 0 on the Richter scale jolted northern Myanmar's Mandalay region with two aftershocks on 4.0 and 5.4 scale Friday evening, according to State Hydrology and Meteorology Department. Occurring at 18:23:46 local time (11:53:46 GMT), the epicenter of the quake was estimated at a location about 96 km north of Mandalay and 8 km south of Tabeikkyin in the same region. The quake struck at a depth of 20 km. So far, there is no immediate report of casualties and damages to properties in the quake-hit area.
