'Mother' murder arrest after girl ,4, dies in Moss Side

A woman believed to be the mother of a dead four-year-old girl, has been arrested on suspicion of her murder. The girl's body was found at a two-storey council house on Garthorne Close in Moss Side, Manchester. Police said that Manchester Royal Infirmary staff contacted them at 19:15 BST on Thursday after a woman came to "express concerns" about the girl. A 31-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder, police said. She is being held in custody for questioning. A Greater Manchester Police (GMP) spokesman said detectives were not looking for anyone else in relation to the girl's death.
