New York police said they evacuated a World Financial Center building Thursday because of a suspicious package that turned out to be a toy grenade. A private security guard at 2 World Financial Center noticed the package during a screening at the 44-story building, WNBC-TV, New York, reported. The item turned out to be a toy grenade mounted on a plaque that said "Complaint Dept. Pull Pin," police told the news station. Officials allowed people back into the building once they determined there was no threat. The World Financial Center, home to major institutions like Merrill Lynch and OppenheimerFunds Inc., is located across the street from the World Trade Center in New York City.
