Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif affirmed on Friday his country's non-involvement in any arms race as it desires peace in the region. The Pakistani Premier, upon his visit to the National Command Center (NCC) of the National Command Authority (NCA), explained that his country's strategic capability was based on the policy of credible minimum deterrence. Also, Nawaz expressed complete satisfaction over the safe, secure, and foolproof security architecture in place for the physical safety and security of Pakistan's Strategic Assets, the press release added. In the same context, he was given a demonstration of the state-of-art connectivity of countrywide strategic assets, which was an exclusive network ensuring effective control over the strategic assets by the NCA. Pakistan and India has accused each other several times of violating ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in the disputed Kashmir region. The Pakistani PM met his Indian counterpart Manmohan Singh in New York on Sunday for the first time after assuming the office to reduce the tensions. Both officials agreed to soothe tensions and task senior military officers to find effective means to restore the ceasefire in Kashmir, where regular clashes have resulted in casualties on both sides. The ceasefire with the neighboring country could largely contribute in spending low budget on defense by both the countries.
